Commission Waitlist
I adore working on commissions, especially with collectors who truly connect with my vision. The commission process is an opportunity for collaboration, often leading us both into new creative territory to create something truly unique and lasting.
Over the past few months, I’ve had so many kind messages asking if I’m taking commissions. While I only open a few spots each year, I’ve just added a new way to express interest: a Commission Waitlist.
The Process
1. Start with Inspiration
To get things moving, I usually ask you to send through 2–3 pieces of mine that you’ve loved in the past - these don’t need to match, just anything you’re drawn to. This helps me understand the energy and mood you’re envisioning.
2. Colour & Subject
From there, I’ll suggest a palette (or we can build one together) and work with any references or images you’d like to share. I’ll create a proposed composition for your approval before starting.
3. Timeline
My commissions typically take around 4–8 weeks, depending on size and schedule. I don’t like to rush - each piece is created with intention and care.
4. Payment & Updates
I request a 50% deposit to begin. The remaining 50% is payable only after you're happy with the finished piece. I’ll keep you updated along the way with progress, so you feel informed and involved.
When your artwork is complete, I’ll send through final images for your approval. The remaining balance is then due prior to delivery.
Local delivery (Sydney) is included, and I can also ship Australia-wide or internationally - rolled or framed, depending on your needs.
If, for any reason, the final piece doesn’t feel right, I’m committed to reworking or repainting to ensure it resonates deeply with you.
Materials & Formats
In my practice, I work with two primary surfaces: Raw Belgian Linen Canvas and Arches Hot Pressed Paper. Each material brings its own qualities, and if you’re unsure which is right for your vision, I’m always happy to chat through the options and guide you.
Raw Belgian Linen Canvas
A natural, untouched linen that I absolutely love working with. Its earthy, honest texture brings warmth and depth to a space.
At times, I paint directly over the full surface, allowing the coarse weave to show through and give the work grit and presence. Often, I leave areas of the linen exposed, letting the raw tone help shape the palette and mood of the piece.
